Changing formats, sending single message

I updated my mail list, downloaded 4.4, composed a long message, and realized I was in the wrong format. I change the format in the message window but it doesn't take in the preview window. What am I doing wrong.

Also, how do I send a message to a single address rather than the whole mail list.

What is the format you can-t preview? If it is HTML or styled text you have to use the 'eye' icon to preview your message in a browser. You can send your message to only one entry deactivating the others.
