Am I correct in understanding that iCash works "continuously" so that all transactions (forever) can be entered then use filtering/search/query to select a particular financial (non-calendar) year?

If this is the case and I want to keep financial years separate do I just set up a new file for each year?

How do others handle this?

It is up to you. Some users prefer to maintain every year in a separate document. Others prefer to use one single document... Personally I prefer the second approach.
