Hi Stan,

Is there a way create a query to find fields that are empty. I require a project for each entry. Is there a quick way to find out if this field has not been filled in in error? I had thought of just sorting the transaction panel by PROJECT but realized the project field doesn't show on the panel and therefore can't be sorted by. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I guess you just need to not fill the search field.

Hi! I tried that, but it defaults to all transactions in that case.

What exact query are you performing?

My query panel values are the defaults except for the Where: selection. See below:

When: Current Year
Into: All Types, All Categories, All accounts
Where: Project - is equal to - I have left the last field blank.

The query results in all the transactions regardless of Project field value.

Interestingly enough, I tried the Profit & Loss Report using the same criteria as above and it worked. I received a P&L showing account values which did not have a project applied. However, the report does not give me access to the individual transactions making up the totals. Therefore, I would then have to go back to run queries on the individual accounts, search for the actual transaction and update the project field. It would be much simpler just to be able to query a blank field. Thanks again.
