I've got an email address that passed my own email validation calculation (a custom FileMaker function) is being reported as bad by MaxBulk Mailer 6.8, and it will not import. The email address follows this format: username@a.cityname.mn.u

The custom function states, in the comments:
"Since new top-level domains are constantly added, this function assumes the top-level domain is legitimate and validates only the email format."

I checked the email address in this RFC822 email address validator and it passed.

It looks like MaxBulk Mailer > Preferences > General has a "Check for duplicates" option, but nothing that bypasses the email validation check. I'm not really willing to email the customer just to see if it's a valid email address, but I'm assuming that it is at this point.

So what's the scoop?

username@a.cityname.mn.u looks bad to me. I have never heard about the 'u' top domain. MaxBulk Mailer doesn't accept single letter top domains.

Oh… you know what, after reading your reply, it just hit me. That should be a .us email address, I'm sure of it.

Thanks for the attention,
-Matt
